"Mrs Harley W. Ecker of Denver died at 7:30 o'clock last night, following the birth of a son which took place at 1 o'clock yesterday. Mrs Ecker formerly Miss Galdys Straw was the only daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Samuel Straw who were well known residents of this city. She was born thirty-five years ago and graduated from Eklhart High School in the class of 1901 of which her husband also was a member. They were married about eleven years ago and went to Denver in 1913.
Mrs Ecker is survivied by her husband and infant son; a brother Kyle Straw of Cleveland township and a stepmother Mrs. Julia Straw who is living with her stepson and is an invalid.
Mr. Ecker is a son of Mr. William T. Ecker of 1010 South Main Street. At 5 o'clock yesterday the latter received a telegram from his son announcing the birth of the child and the assurance that the mother had passed her ordeal and was resting well. A few hours later a second telegram announced her death. Mrs. W. T. Ecker was wtih her daughter-in-law, having gone to Denver five weeks ago.
The body will be brought here Thursday and taken to the home of Mr. and Mrs Ecker. Funeral arrangements will be made after the arrival of the body."
