bullet  General Notes:

Miles City Star - (Nov/28/2007)
Jonathan Coltom Mysse, 38, of Ingomar, died Monday Nov. 19, 2007, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born on Oct. 20, 1969 in Billings, the son of Sivert O. and Janet Whitney Mysse. He grew up on the family ranch and attended elementary school in Ingomar, high school in Melstone and graduated from Montana State University-Bozeman in 1994 with a bachelor of science degree in agriculture engineering technology.
Following graduation he was employed by JRJ Crisifulli of Glendive for three years as a sales engineer. He then was employed by Ideal Manufacturing of Billings for one year, also as sales engineer. He then returned to Ingomar to operate and manage the family ranch until his death.
Jonathan, as the family knew him, and Jon to his friends had many diverse interests in life and developed a conquering attitude to accomplish his goals given his mobility limitations. He was an avid hunter of big game whether it was seeking elk, moose, deer or buffalo with his many in-state and out-of-state friends whom he made through his guiding company called Purple Sage Outfitters or fishing with the locals in his floating tube, he thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors. If shooting with a rifle or handgun was not enough he picked up the sport of archery and with the help of a Polaris 4-wheeler he had no limitations. There was not a piece of farm or ranch equipment that he could not operate from a D8 Cat to a Case IH combine to the Steiger 4-wheel-drive tractor to the swather — any piece of equipment was fair game after a modification or two to accommodate him.
He was civic minded as well serving on the local Farm Service Agency, a member of the Montana Organic Chapter, and usually attended a majority of the community events. While in grade school and high school he was active in the 4-H and Future Farmers of America organizations, basketball and track, and while in college he participated in FFA and Engineering Club and frequented the Alpha Gamma Roe Fraternity house, though never joined.
His passions and knowledge in life were very diverse since he thoroughly enjoyed visiting with anyone who wanted to chat. From photography to woodworking, auto and truck mechanics to organic farming, exploring the world via the Internet, always having a customized vehicle license plate, being an avid Nascar fan, staying in touch with friends and relatives via e-mail, to baking "mom's rolls" or trying the latest recipe for the smoking of a meat, cheese or vegetable to out do his competition in Forsyth, and to his latest project of building a side car for his Harley Davidson motorcycle so that he could enjoy the freedom of the open road. The easy smile of his, the swagger of his head with the Stetson or ball cap on as he wheeled his wheel chair on to the next event enticed many a stranger to become his friend. Many a neighbor or stranger often came to his assistance, of which he was very thankful, when a plan went south but that only encouraged him to achieve the next higher level.
His survivors include his two brothers, Sivert III of Billings and Richard of Havre; three nieces and nephews, Kate and Jess Mysse of Roberts and Karina Mysse of Buffalo, Wyo.; his aunt, Pat (Dick) Dross of Great Falls; and cousins, Whit (Lori) Dross of Billings and Allison Dross of Dickinson, N.D.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sivert and Janet; his uncle, Merton; and aunts Bernice (Paul) Milam and Marie (Bill) Straw.
Join the family for a celebration of his life and bring a picture or a story or two for sharing. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, in the Chapel of Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Forsyth. Interment will follow in the Forsyth Cemetery. A reception will follow at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Forsyth.
Donations, in lieu of flowers, maybe made to Montana FFA Foundation, Bozeman, MT, 1-406-582-4118.
