Research on Rootsweb of Thomas L Dunne:
David served as a Revolutionary War Soldier with his brother, and father. David was a private from Norwich, Connecticut, 4th Regiment, Connecticut line, under Col. John Durkee, and in Capt. John Harmon's Company. He enlisted January 1, 1777. He served 2 enlistments, first in the 8th Regiment, militia at New York 1776, Capt. Gallup's Company, discharged November 17, 1776. Then in the 4th Regiment, Connecticut Line. In his pension papers, he is said to have been a Minute Man, and was commended for gallantry in the charge on Morris Town, New Jersey, where he was wounded in the leg.
David Culver received a pension for injuries he received while in the military service during the Revolutionary War. After his death, his wife Mary French continued with this pension until her death.
