bullet  General Notes:

Recollections of Mary Moore O'Connor: (his first cousin)
Bill came to live with Andrew and Belle Bruce Jones in Brant Lake when he was about 12. (the Jones lived in the "stone house" where the road divides to go either side of the lake) He and Mary Moore, who lived about a quarter of a mile from him, and was his second cousin, went to the Elbow school together when he moved to Brant Lake. Before this time she did not know much about him as he lived in Graphite, NY (Hague). His father died in 1923 when Bill was about 6 and this may have had something to do with Bill not living at home. The Jones' ran a kind of boarding house and employed people to help them. One such person was Evelyn Naar from the Plattsburg area who came there when she was 16 to cook and clean etc. She and Bill got married in 1943. Bill has lived in Brant lake all his life and has served as Justice of the Peace, Town Councilman and member of the Town board. They have two daughters and as of Oct 1999 live on the So Horicon Road in Brant Lake, NY.
