Mrs. Samuel Stanton passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. D. B. Howe on Vine St Northfield, Friday after a long illness. Eliza Tracy was the daughter of Lavina Averill and Andrew Tracy and was born in Stowe, 86 years ago. She was married to Samuel Howe*) and spent the greater part of her life in Roxbury where she was very well known and a highly respected woman. As long as her health would permit she cared for the sick going at any time when she was called and needed. She was a loving mother and very kind neighbor. Mr. Stanton died Feb 15, 1905. Mrs. Stanton had been ill for over four years, for a time she was cared for by her son Anson J. Stanton at their home in Roxbury, but as her suffering increased she was brought to the home of Mr. Howe where she was tenderly cared for by her two daughters Mrs. Howe and Mrs. White. The deceased is survived by five children, Andrew J. Stanton of Woburn, Mass., Charles H. Stanton of Everett, Mass., Anson J Stanton of Roxbury, Mrs. Minnie White and Mrs. D.B. Howe of Northfield, also two sisters, Mrs. Abigail Latham of Roxbury and Carolina Straw of Vershire. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, Rev. C. E. Bingham, pastor of the Universalist Church officiating. Interment was in the family lot at Roxbury. Among those attending the funeral were Jennie Latham of Montpelier, Charles H. of Everett, Andrew J of Woburn, Anson J. of Roxbury and Mrs. D.W. Richardson of Winchendon, Mass.
