William S. Smith was a Hartford pupil [born deaf] admitted in 1825 age15. Had 2 brothers born deaf and one deaf sister by Hartford reports.He was a mechanic and carpenter. Married Mary F. Bean but never had any children. Mrs Smith adopted a child Mary Ann, hearing, b. 15 March 1859 and died 21 June 1866.
