Mrs. Harry Woods
Lorain: Gail J. Woods, 42, of 129 Washington Ave. died in St. Joseph's Hospital last night after a long illness.
Born Nov. 5, 1924, in Lorain, she was a lifetime resident. She was employed as a cashier at the A and P Store, South Broadway, and was a member of the retail Store Employees Union 880.
A Gray Lady with the American Red Cross, she was a member of the Queen City Chapter Eastern Star 66. Mrs. Woods was a member of the Lake Erie Order of the White Shrine 47 and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Harry; three sons, Karl, Amherst; Colin, with the U.S. Army in Germany and Larry at home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orlo Higgins; and two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Nadine) Chesnek and Mrs. Ezra (Christiane) Straw, all of Lorain.
Friends may call at the Schwartz, Spence and Boyer Home for Funerals today from 7 to 9 P.M. and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M.
The funeral service will be Friday at 1 P.M. in the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Voettger officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
The Queen City Chapter of Eastern Star will conduct services tomorrow evening at 7:30 in the funeral home.
