Leone V. Dorsett
Washougal - A Camas-Washougal area resident for the past 67 years, Leone Vay Dorsett died Monday, June 4, 2001, in Vancouver. She was 82.
A funeral will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Straub's Funeral Home in Camas. The casket will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Her body will be cremated. Inurnment will be in Washougal Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Dorsett was born July 20, 1918 in Plankinton, S.D., and raised in South Dakota.
She married Ray Ready in 1937 and worked at the Crown Zellerbach paper mill and fished commercially on the Columbia River. She also drove a school bus. Mr. Ready died in 1986.
Mrs. Dorsett married Lester Dorsett in 1987 and moved to Washougal.
She enjoyed painting and love hunting.
She was an active member of LaCamas Bible Church, Washougal Eagles Lodge, Knights of Pythias, the Wildlife League and Navy Mothers.
Survivors include her husband, Lester, at home; one son, Robert Ready of Kalama; one sister, Marie Chevron of Washougal; one brother, George Mathis of Vancouver; and two grandchildren.
