Thomas Lee Mitts was born to Squire Jefferson and Nancy Ann Mitts on January 9, 1854. Thomas married Mary Catherine Dale in 1877 in Burton, Illinois. Mary was born November 25, 1860 in Missouri. Thomas L. and Mary Catherine moved from Illinois to Missouri where their 6 children were born. They were divorced in about 1902 and Thomas went to Cherokee, Oklahoma and there he married a woman by the name of Dorothy. Thomas died in Cherokee 4/22/1946. Mary Catherine stayed in Missouri raising her children alone. In 1907 she moved to Wyoming where her son Frank was living. She lived in Sundance, Wyoming for the rest of her life. She died 6/1/1946
