Red Bank -Mrs Clemen(sic)Smith, died yesterday (Aug 7); Monmouth Memorial Hospital; cerebral hemmorhage (stroke); born Grintesville, NY; d/o Calvin and Mary Flemming; husband Clarence died several years ago; family moved to Red Bank seven years ago from New Bedford, MA; survived by 12 Children: Mrs. Elizabeth Burns, Mrs Anna Ekstrom, Mrs Geraldine Underwood, Irene Smith, Frances Smith, Clarence, Raymond, Robert, Richard, Rollin, Chester and Lewis Smith

She died in Red Bank, NJ, 1935. Put on a train for the cemetery where my grandfather is buried in NY State, never made it. I called the funeral home in Red Bank & questioned about her being sent there. Gal told me they were closing the funeral home & moving to one of the Carolina's. Asked me to call her in a month & she could give me info. Got back to her, she sent me the papers she had. I had someone go to the cemetery & look for her grave, not where my grandfather is. Other cemeteries in the area were checked & not in any of them either. So I've laughed about it & said she is still on the train. I had hoped to go there to see what I could find out myself but haven't done it.

Clema married Clarence Caleb Smith, son of Calib Clancy Smith and Jane Anna Bennett, on 2 Dec 1895 in North Hudson, New York. (Clarence Caleb Smith was born on 7 Nov 1875 in Horicon, Warren County, New York, died on 11 Jun 1930 in Johnsburg, Warren County, New York and was buried in Union Cemetery - North Creek, New York.)
