STRAW - Stace, age 31 yrs. Passed away Wed., Dec. 12, 2001 at St. Joseph Hospital. Survived by daughter, Sara Ashcraft and fiancee, Michelle Ashcraft; father, Charles L. Straw; mother and step - father, Pat and Jim Moore; sister, Samantha Straw; brother,Steven Straw; aunts and uncles, Chester and Mary McDonald (Indiana), Deb and Don Sanders, Mick and Lindy McDonald, Gordon and Linda McDonald; many many friends. VISITATION Sat. 10 - 11 am, at the Mortuary. SERVICES Sat. 11 am, Westlawn Hillcrest Chapel. Interment Westlawn Hillcrest Memorial Park.

"According to the Omaha Police Department, sometime after midnight Dec. 8, the door to a residence was kicked open and three armed men began yelling for the occupants to lie on the floor. At some point, 31-year-old Omaha man Stace Straw was shot in the head and another man shot in the foot. There were at least nine people in the home when the intruders struck and robbed them, police say.
A few hours later, 23-year-old Enrique Ramirez, 28-year-old Samson Aldaco, both of Garden City, and former Garden City man, 46-year-old Paul Hernandez were arrested in Omaha for the incident. Allegedly, Hernandez was the shooter.
Four days later, on Wednesday, Straw died from his head injury. Because he died, the three also were charged with killing him. Meanwhile, OPD sent Garden City/Finney County authorities search and arrest warrants for two more suspects."

Killer gets 2nd life sentence

A Garden City, Kan., drug dealer convicted of killing an Omaha man added another life term to his prison sentence : this time for conspiring to distribute methamphetamine.
U.S. District Judge Laurie Smith Camp on Monday sentenced Samson Aldaco, 33, to life in prison after she found him guilty of possessing drugs and conspiring to deal drugs from January 1999 to December 2001.
Aldaco already is serving a life term for the December 2001 murder of Stace Straw of Omaha.
Aldaco organized four men to collect on a drug debt at a south Omaha house. One of the men shot Straw, executionstyle, during the raid. Though Aldaco wasn't the shooter, a jury convicted him of first-degree murder under a law that holds accomplices responsible.
Investigators unraveled the drug conspiracy after Straw's murder......
