Inscription on DAR marker in the Courthouse yard in Paris, IL:
"Came to Athens Co., OH in 1810 from Parkersburg, VA. He raised his family in Lee Township, Athens Co., OH. In 1845 he came to (Edgar County) IL to live with his daughter."
Daniel married Nancy Neal, daughter of James Neal and Hannah Hardin, in 1788 in Fort Neal, Wood County, Virginia. (Nancy Neal was born circa 1770 in Fort Neal, Wood County, Virginia, died circa 1847 and was buried in Paris, Edgar County, Illinois.)
