From "The Palmyra Enterprise" Feb. 18th, 1880
HILL - In this village on Saturday morning, Feb.14, 1880, Mrs. Sally HILL, mother of Mrs. C.F. EASTMAN, aged 91 years and 7 months.
Mrs. HILL was the oldest person residing in the town. She was a native of New Hampshire and removed to this place from Groton in that State, with the family of Mr.C. F. EASTMAN, in the fall of 1867, and has since resided with them until her decease. She was the relict of Mr. Parker HILL, who departed this life some two years before emigrating to her home in the west. Her family had consisted of her husband and twelve children, all of whom she outlived excepting two daughters, one here and one in the State of her nativity. Mrs. HILL had been a member of the church for more than 60 years and her daily life indicated that she was one of the most devoted and truly conscientious christians of the age. She passed down to the tomb like a shock of corn fully ripe, prepared to meet the Master. The funeral services took place at the residence of Mr. C. F. EASTMAN, and were conducted by Rev. G. C. Shirk, of Whitewater, on Sunday afternoon, who preached an excellent and appropriate discourse on the occasion. A large company of friends and aquaintances were present to pay a tribute of respect to the memory of the aged christian sister.
