Ron Wadman, 74, of Freshwater, Placentia Bay, passed peacefully away on October 23, 2016 in St. John's at the home of his daughter, surrounded by his family. Ron is lovingly remembered and celebrated by his wife of 47 years Eileen (Connors), son Mark, daughter Barbie (Dan), grandchildren Katie and Nicholas, brothers John (Betty) and Frank (Judy) and family, and sister Bride (Jim). He is missed by many other family and friends including his sisters-in-law Kathleen, Anne, Veronica, Marie, Mercedes, Eilish, and Patricia, wonderful neighbours on New Settlement Hill as well as his faithful companion Callie Cat. Ron was an advocate for medical assistance in dying (MAID) and through his death was proud to provide the opportunity to a team of physicians to learn about the procedure. Ron requested that his remains be donated to efforts to further understanding of ALS. The family would like to thank the physicians, paramedics of Power's ambulance of Freshwater and all those involved for their compassionate care and support. At Ron's request, no services will be held. Condolences may be sent to P. O. Box 82 Freshwater, P. Bay NL A0B 1W0. Donations may be made in memory of Ron to the ALS Society of NL or the SPCA.
