Nathan Scarritt

  General Notes:

The first Scarritt to come to Monroe was Nathan, son of Jeremiah, who was b. in CT, 1753, came to Monroe in 1801 and located on the Scarritt farm on Scarritt Mt. which still is known by that name. He m. Abagail Atkins (b. 1759, d. 1840 in IL). Nathan d. Oct 11, 1828, bur. N. Monroe. Children: 1. Lucy, b. 1781, m. Richard R. Moore; 2. Rev. Isaac, b. 1783, d. 1861, m. Candace Mason; 3. Nathan, b. 1788, d. 1847, m. Letty Allds; 4. Rev. Josiah Atkins, b. 1790, d. 1865, m. 1st Cynthia Dow, m. 2nd Phebe Burley; 5. Lovina Electa, b. 1801, d. 1863; 6. Jeremiah, b. 1793, d. 1811, bur. N. Nathan married Abigail Atkins. (Abigail Atkins was born in 1759, died in 1840 and was buried in Illinois.)
