At the time of his father's death he was only about 15 yrs old and still living at home with his mother and two sisters. He was given $10.00 from his father's estate when he came of age.

In 1828 he was serving as Coroner for the township of Dunbarton in Merrimack County, NH (1828 Farmer's New-Hamshire Annual Register)

Jason married Susan Williams, daughter of Thomas Williams and Nancy Colby, on 9 Nov 1817 in Dunbarton, Merrimack County, New Hampshire. (Susan Williams was born circa 1797 in Hopkinton, Merrimack County, New Hampshire and died on 28 Oct 1832 in Hopkinton, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.)
