Also in the 1850 census for Waterbury, VT is a listing for Russell Straw ae 28 (born c 1822) of Waterbury, VT who is living in the household of Edward and Polly Baker; next door lives a Nathan Straw ae 71 born (c 1779) in MA and his wife Emily ae 65. Across the street and living in the household of Daniel Blush Jr is Herman Straw ae 21.( born c 1829) His occupation listed as tanner. Also living there is his brother Jehial also a tanner.
Russell's occupation is "shoemaker" as is Edward Baker's and another male living there whose name is Thomas (last name illegible) ae 18

Russell Straw was somehow separated from his wife Abigail. He was living in the household of Luke and Eliza Joslin in 1860. I cannot figure out why in the 1850 census he went by the name of Alvin D. yet. Even in a typed out family tree that my grandmother did, his name was listed as Russell.
