Samuel moved to Ohio in 1820 and taught school in Wyandot County for 4-5 years. Samuel married Christina daughter of John Staley a native of Pennsylvania who came to Pickaway County Ohio thence to Pitt Township this county in 1815. He reared six children and prospered in agricultural pursuits owning at one time upward of 400 acres. In 1844-45 he lost his entire possessions by subscribing as security for others and in 1858 died near Upper Sandusky his wife surviving till 1874.Samuel C. Straw, his wife Christena and his father Deacon David Straw are buried in the Bowsherville Cemetery located in the Killdeer Plains Wildlife Area near Harpster. [Courtesy of J. Swinehart]

March 2000 per research of Gregg Beitel a descendant of Sallie Mae Straw:
He claims there were also children named Jason, Mitchell and Theodore
Gregg also states Samuel and his father Deacon David are buried in Bowsherville Cemetery located on the Killdeer Plains wildlife refuge and special permission has to be given to visit the site. The graves are in disrepair with many of the stones broken or sunken. The cemetery records state he was 54 years old.

Also following Samuel's death Christena may have married John Parlow on 8 Dec 1867 in Sandusky, Ohio.......second marriage?
