Cogswell's History of Henniker calls Lovina "Elvada" (no surname) and gives Vinal's birthdate as 14 Jul 1836. The 1850 census of Manchester calls Levi "Lewis", who then disappeared by 1860; Lovina and the children had removed to Hooksett by then. Lovina's gravestone calls her Elvira.
A Levi Howe married at Weare 07 Oct 1835 Lovina E. Felch, daughter of Curtis and Sally (Evans) Felch; possibly the parents, as Vinal G. is the first known child.
