CITY PRESS---Vernon Fulcher, aged 48, passed away at his home, 103 St. Mary's street, Charles City, Tuesday afternoon, November 4, at 1:15 o'clock following a heart ailment of about three months duration. Mr. Fulcher has been an invalid for about 23 years, but has been able to be up and make frequent visits down town. For the last year, Mr. Fulcher has operated a filling station located next to his home.
Vernon Glen Fulcher was born to Mabel and Fred Fulcher, Aug. 10, 1893, at New Hampton, Iowa. On Oct. 14, 1915, he was united in marriage to Eva Adel Straw at Waterloo, Iowa. To this union were born two children, Geraldine, living at home, and Glen Fulcher, living in Charles City. Surviving besides Mrs. Fulcher and the two children, are Mr. Fulcher's mother, Mrs. Fred Fulcher, of New Hampton and three brothers and four sisters who are Lester Fulcher, Mrs. Raymond Aldous, both of Charles City, Mrs. Amy Lensing and Everett Fulcher, both of New Hampton, Alfred Fulcher of Cresco, Mrs. Jess Straw of Sumner and Mrs. Ada Hannan of West Salem, Wis.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Hauser Funeral Home. The Rev. John E. DeLong of the First Methodist church officiated. Interment was made in Graceland cemetery, New Hampton.

Vernard married Eva Adelle Straw, daughter of George Washington Straw and Myra Stephen Everts, on 13 Oct 1915 in Black Hawk County, Iowa. (Eva Adelle Straw was born on 10 Nov 1893 in New Hampton, Chickasaw County, Iowa, died on 3 May 1950 in New Hampton, Chickasaw County, Iowa and was buried in Graceland Cemetery; New Hampton, Chickasaw County, Iowa.)
