Stephen married Lois Straw, daughter of Sargent Straw and Rachel Richardson, on 13 Jun 1816 in New Boston, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire. (Lois Straw was born on 30 Aug 1795 in Greenfield, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, died on 24 Jun 1871 in Hancock, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire and was buried in Old Meeting House Cemetery in Greenfield, New Hampshire.). The cause of her death was consumption.
