Ekekiel was most likely born in Salisbury, MA the home of his parents. He moved to Hopkinton sometime after his first marriage in 1758 which took place in South Hampton, NH. His second wife Betty Colby was a widow and was living there at the time of their marriage. She was the widow of Samson Colby. He was born in 1723 and lived first in Concord and then in Hopkinton. Ezekiel's first wife, Martha Gould was the great grandmother of Ezekiel Albert Straw who became governor of New Hampshire (1872-1874) (this information per Biographical Review Vol XXI Containing Sketches of Leading Citizens of Merimack and Sullivan Counties, NH; Biographical Review Pub Co. Boston 1897)

Per Lord's History of Hopkinton: Ezekiel enlisted to serve at New York from Hopkinton Sept 17 1776 and served til December of that same year. He was also a signer of the Association Test for Hopkinton.
Per Lord's History of Hopkinton he served in the RI campaign under Capt J. Bayley..Aug-Sept 1778.
Names and dates per Ellen Straw Thompson genealogy as well as date of death for Ezekiel.

Ezekiel's name appears among the names of men belonging to Weare's regiment, mustered for service in 1759, who receipted to Capt Samuel Leavitt, muster- master and paymaster to the forces raised at Hampton Falls for the CANADA Expedition, under date 28 Apr 1759.

Other sources of info include NHVR which gives the name of Betty's husband.
Ezekiel was said to be in the 80th year of his life when his sister Hannah died in 1809.

Straw, son of Samuel & Elizabeth (Dimond) Straw, b. 15 Jan 1730/31 Salisbury MA, d. 15 Jan 1730 at Salisbury MA; m1) 18 May 1758 to Martha Gould (South Hampton NH Church records), dau of Joseph & Abigail (Hoyt) Gould. She b. 28 May 1728. He married 2) 1782 Betty Brown of Pembroke NH [a second source calls her Betty Hoyt, dau of Abner & Betty (Hoyt) Hoyt who supposedly m1) Samson Colby of Rumford, int. 19 Sep 1742, she m. Ezekiel Straw 2nd.]. He along with other residents of Hopkinton NH signed a declaration of fidelity (Life and Times in Hopkinton NH, by Charles Lord page 59). On the 7 March 1774 he was Lieutenant of the 13th Company of Hopkinton Militia (Collections of NH Historical Society, page 196). In the U.S. Revolutionary War Rolls 1775-1783 he is shown as "Ezekiel Straw, Private, NH" and he served in August and September 1778 in Rhode Island in a company commanded by Captain Joshua Bailey, serving 25 days
