Merle Lee Straw of 2008 Crawford Drive died early Wednesday at a local hospital age 39.
Born in Scottsbluff, Neb., on July 13, 1926, Straw was owner of the Economy Neon Company
which he started about eight years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elaine E. Straw; two children,Gary Wayne and Judy Lynn Straw, both at home; his mother, Mrs. Flossie Straw of Spirit Lake, Idaho; five sisters,
Mrs. Ethelyn Overton of Sacramento,Calif., Mrs. Edna Robinson of Los Angeles, Mrs. Marie
Phillips of Escalon, Calif., Mrs.Jean Sweitzer of Post Falls,Idaho, and Mrs. Audrey Castle
of Redmond, Wash., and three brothers, Harold Straw of Sacramento. Don Straw of Portland
and Alan Straw of Post Falls, Idaho.
He was a member of theWalla Walla 59ers.
Funeral services will be at the Groseclose chapel with Dr. David Almon of Pioneer Methodist church officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
