According to the Minnehaha County Death Book 148, certificate 00146, James Madison Straw was born on 3 June 1916 in Chester, S.D. and died 84 years later on 20 October 2000 in Sioux Falls in a Dept. of Veteran Affairs nursing home (as he had been a member of the Armed Forces). He died a widower and a retired mechanic of Dual Manufacturing. He was a white male, son of Charles Straw and Martha Mead. Informant for the death certificate was Roberta Straw of 216 N. Minnesota Avenue, #3, Sioux Falls, SD 57104. Mr. Straw was buried at Hills of Rest Cemetery by the Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 4201 E. 10th St., Sioux Falls, SD 57103. He died of congestive heart failure due to coronary artery disease. His Burial certificate with Minnehaha County confirms the above and is listed in Burial Book 83, Certificate 337.
