Carthage Press, The (MO) March 11, 2002 -- Raymond Ott JASPER, Mo. - Raymond Willard Lee Ott, 80, Jasper, died at 10:35 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2002, at McCune-Brooks Hospital. Mr. Ott was born Aug. 21, 1921, in Lockwood to Frederick and Minnie Ott. He was a retired forklift operator from Schreiber Foods and was a farmer. He was a member of Good Shepard Lutheran Church, Carthage, and of the American Legion Post 322, Webb City. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Louise Straw on June 4, 1950, in Carthage. She survives. Additional survivors include a son, Raymond Richard Ott, Carthage; a daughter, Sara Louis Payne, Olathe, Kan.; a brother, Frederick "Gene" Ott, Carl Junction; two sisters, Beatrice Hayes, Lockwood and Arneta Towns, Wichita, Kan.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, at Good Shepard Lutheran Church, Carthage. The Rev. James Schnackenberg will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper. Burial will be Paradise Cemetery, Jasper. Memorials are suggested to Good Shepard Lutheran Church, Carthage.
