Ernest Leroy Straw, son of Thomas and Ellen Straw was born near Chester, South Dakota on 7 October 1937. He married Kathy Tupper at Canton, SD on 17 August 1969. He died Saturday evening at the Madison Community Hospital at the age of 51.
He attended Dakota State College and worked until purchasing the Park Hotel in 1975 which he owned until April 1980. He was then part owner of Nicky's Restaurant unitl 1988.
He was a former member of the Madison Elks Lodge, Kiwanis and the Izaak Walton League.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy, of Madison; his parents, Thomas and Ellen Straw of Madison; one brother Roger Straw of Madison; five sisters, Mrs. Marvin (Ruth) Bagley of Madison; Wilda Severtson of Brandon, Virginia Kaufman of Seattle, WA, Mrs. Gordy (Marty) Boe of North Wales, PA, Mrs. Charles (Carol) Clark of Stead, Nevada.
Preceded in death by one brother in infancy.
