Martin, 78, died Wednesday at Forest Del Health and Rehabilitation Center. She retired from the housekeeping department at Mercy Hospital in Davenport, Iowa. She attended Francisco Gospel Ministry Church. Surviving are two sons, Jimmy Straw of Fortson, Ga., and Robert Martin of Davenport; a brother, Harry Lee Straw of Davenport; two grandsons, Travis and Tyson Martin; and nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Providence Cemetery in Francisco. There will be no visitation at Colvin Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Princeton '96 Mary M. Martin, 78, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1999 at 8:05 p.m. at Forest Del Health and Rehabilitation Center in Princeton. Mrs. Martin was born Aug. 28, 1920 in Carlisle, Iowa to Edward J. and Katherine Olive (Garterell) Straw. She was a retired housekeeper for Mercy Hospital in Davenport. Mrs. Martin attended Francisco Gospel Ministry Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Ernest Goodwin and Paul Martin; a son, Larry Straw. Survivors include: two sons, Jimmy Straw of Fortson, Ga., and Robert Martin of Davenport; two grandsons, Travis and Tyson Martin both of Moline, Ill; one brother, Harry Lee Straw of Davenport; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Graveside services will be Saturday, Feb. 6, at 2 p.m. at Providence Cemetery in Francisco with Rev. Robert McDonald Officiating.
