Census of 1840 and 1860 he is living in Hopkinton, Merrimack County, NH In the census of 1850 for Hillsboro, NH his name is entered as "Azeal L. Straw" but census takers were often wrong with spellings and often entered the names the way they were pronounced. He is 42 years old and occ: blacksmith. He was born in VT. He named twin sons Truman Murray and Gilman Jewell (for Abigail's brother) and I think he had at least one brother named Truman Murray who died young at age 19. Valentine Jr and his wife Abigail were married in 1807 in VT (Waitesfield) and could have had Asahel in 1808. Ellen Straw Thompson in her genealogy states: " a descendant no doubt of Lawrence who came from Vermont ..."
