bullet  General Notes:

Carter (History of Pembroke, NH); History of Monroe, NH (Johnson). History of Barnet, VT

research of Diane Delbridge on Rootsweb gives the following:
He was the executor of Nathan Scarritt's estate, and called son in law in Nathan's will.
From the Grafton Co Gazetteer, p. 553: He came to this town from Bow, NH some time previous to 1800 and located on the place now [1886] occupied by John E. Whitcomb, on road 11. He reared a family of six children, three of whom are living, namely, Mrs. Sophronia Paddleford of Barnet, VT, Nathaniel S. and Richard, both of this town.
The Hist of Barnet, VT says he was brought up by Robert Nelson, and had 6 children of whom only Harry is mentioned. It says his father's name was Richard, which disagrees with the Pembroke Hist.

"Several other families came to town about 1800. Major Richard R. Moore came from Bow, NH and located on Road 11 on the farm now owned by David Lang.[History of Monroe, NH 1761-1954 by Frances Ann Johnson (Littleton, NH: Courier Printing, 1955]
