James F. Straw passed away peacefully on Friday, October 1, 2021 at the age of 96.
Married 69 years to the love of his life Delores (née Sundquist). Father to Jim (Laurie), Jeff (Katie), and John (Beth). Grandpa to Tatum Straw, Joel Straw, Kevin Johnson, Chris Johnson (Kayla), Justin Dare and Dwayne Dare. James is survived by his sisters Jane Fink and Joan Stabenau and numerous nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Ethel (nee Fowler) Straw.
James was born on July 20, 1925 in Bay View, WI. He graduated from West Allis Central High School in 1943 and immediately joined the U.S. Navy where he proudly served in World War II in the Pacific and stateside. Jim was a patriot throughout his life and supported many military causes. He was fortunate to attend the World War II Memorial in Washington D.C. through the Honor Flight Foundation. After serving his country, he was employed by the USPS downtown Milwaukee location and retired in a management position.
James had many passions including the Brewers, Packers and Badgers. One of his favorite things to do was to take the family to Gawlettas resort in Butternut, WI where he loved to fish and play golf.
Visitation will be held from 1:30 PM until time of Service at 2:30 PM, on Friday, October 8, at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Chapel of the Flowers, 13235 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield, WI 53005.

James married Delores Panajotas, daughter of Savas "Sam" Panajotis and Living, on 16 Feb 1952 in Dubuque, Dubuque County, Iowa. (Delores Panajotas was born on 20 Jul 1931 in Wisconsin, died on 25 Mar 2022 and was buried in Wisconsin Memorial Park - Brookfield, Wisconsin.)
