James Martsfield, 93 of Salem passed away on Monday 13, 2014. He was born in Alpena, South Dakota to Chris Martsfield and Florence Gamble Martsfield. Third of 10 children. Came to Oregon in 1935 with his family.
Was in the CCC's in the 1930's, then began his career at Del Monte Corp worked for 43 Years.
Joined the Armyduring World War II. Cub Scout leader, Volunteer at Roberts and Halls Ferry fire department, member of South Salem Center called Bingo for many years. Loved fishing , hunting and woodworking.
Jim was married to the love of his life Naideen Straw for 63 years.
Jim is survived by his son Jim Martsfield, daughters Judy (Doyle) Rogers, Linda (Roddy) Sloper, Mary (Daryl) Greenberg. Sisters Rosie Schulz, of Oregon City, Joanne Kersey of Corvallis. 10 Grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Naideen, siblings, Viv, Irene, Genevieve, Helen, Ray, Gene, Paul.
Viewing Monday January 20, 9:30 at St Edwards Catholic Church in Keizer with a funeral Mass following at 10:30am, A light lunch reception will follow. Interment will be at City View Mausoleum at 1:00 pm.

James married Naideen Minnetta Straw, daughter of Vernon Alvin Straw and Edna Martha Starr, on 11 Apr 1942 in Salem, Marion County, Oregon. (Naideen Minnetta Straw was born on 13 Jul 1923 in Salem, Marion County, Oregon, died on 22 Jan 2006 in Salem, Marion County, Oregon and was buried in City View Mausoleum - Salem, Oregon.)
