In 1830 Sandwich, Strafford, NH there were two Straws: William and Samuel -both had daughters ages 15-19. William did have a daughter named Lydia born 1795 but she does not seem to be this Lydia but as she goes by Jane she could be Jane Lydia?
Since her two daughters are named as heirs in Adm Papers of Lydia Straw d/o Wm Straw and Martha Sargent, I believe her to be another of their daughters and will assign her as so unless I receive further documentation to prove otherwise. These two Joy girls got a large settlement as did Lydia's brothers and sisters and Lydia Joy died 1844 before Adm Papers and it seems logical the girls would be receiving what their mother would have been entitiled to.
Lydia married Joseph Hicks Joy, son of Jacob Joy and Elizabeth (Betsey) Hicks, on 25 Oct 1835 in Durham, Strafford County, New Hampshire. (Joseph Hicks Joy was born on 9 Aug 1814 in Durham, Strafford County, New Hampshire and died on 6 Aug 1850 in New Hampshire.)
