(additional notes- courtesy of Sue Phaneuf who has done extensive research on the STRAW line and generously shared with me.) 1850 census in Johnson, Trumbull Co. has him with a Didama/Diadama Straw, age 22; no children. In 1870 he's in Richmond, Jefferson Co., OH with Jane [28], Austin E., [16], Calvin [11], Fanny [9], Cynthia [7], Charles [5] and Gilbert [3]. Since Austin is 16 and Jane is only 28, Austin must be Diadama's son. I think she is DIADEMMA DEWEY who married a David Straw 25 NOV 1847 in Trumbull. Now a Hannah Straw married an Eli DEWEY 9 May 1849 also in Trumbull, so I would imagine that Hannah is David's sister. Eli Dewey was the son of Eli Dewey Sr & Lydia Lounsbury , who just happened to have a sister named Diademma. Now, David and Mary Jane had a son named Calvin; & a Calvin Straw m. Sophia Cale in Trumbull 25 Dec 1844. By 1850, Calvin [26] & Sophia [25] they had 2 children '96 Calvin [2] & Elizabeth [4] and were in Ohio Ashtabula Co. Plymouth. OK, now, finally, a Benjamin Marvin married Melissa Elizabeth Straw in Trumbull 2 Sept 1847. They are living next door to a David Straw[60] b. V; children: Minerva [30], Albert [17], Sally Ann [15], Prudence [12], Gilbert [10] and Cynthia [8]. Obviously, I think that all of these Straws are related and that David [age 60] is their father. Last but not least, a David Straw was married to a Jane Mackey and had all of the above children and lived in Trumbull. [whew]. OK, now who were David & Jane Mackey Straw?? Well, she was the dtr of Isaac Mackey and Elizabeth White, both of PA & that's all I know
