Military records - Robert Easter enrolled 8 Aug 1862 in CO C 12th NH Inf [Capt Blake Fowler] and died 19 Oct 1862 in Washington, D C [Shown by Regt Surgeon to have died Nov 13th 1862 of "typhoid pneumonia" but from statement of Capt of his Company and applicant [wife] the soldier in all probability died 19 Oct 1862 of disease contracted in service...." [15 July 1862]Capt Fowler verified "Easter was taken sick with fever at Arlington Heights in the autumn of 1862 [October?] removed to Carver Hospital in Washington and died in a short time."
