Her maiden name per S. Phaneuf

per Vt VR; she probably died prior to 1850 as the children seem to be living in other HHs and one daughter (Dorothy) is declared a pauper.

She may have been a d/o James Heath and Lydia ____ based on the following:
1. in the 1830 census a James Heath lived in Vershire, VT [Abigail was said to have been born in Vershire].There is a female born between 1801 and 1810 that could be Abigail - James fits the male born 178-1790 and Lydia fits the female b, 1781-1790
2. 1850 census Northfield, VT - Tyler [1805 VT] and Alpha [nee Rand; b.1808] Ladd and daughter Harriet. also in HH are James and Lydia [b.1782 VT] Heath along with their son John Heath and his wife Sophia [Gold] who married in 1845 in Northfield, VT.... [NOTE: widowed Sam'l Straw is in Vershire, VT with Flavel [1800 VT] and Lydia [nee Rowell; b.1802VT] Brown and their family.]
3. 1860 Northfield, Washington, VT - Abigail's widowed husband Samuel C. Straw b. 1803 VT is living with John Heath b. 1817 Springfield, NH and his wife Sophia [Gold] and their children. ...also in HH is John's father b. 11 July 1783 in Plaistow, NH [his wife Lydia d. 1853 in Northfield, VT]]

Abigail married Samuel C. Straw, son of Joseph Straw and Abigail Sanborn, circa 1831. (Samuel C. Straw was born about 1803 in Strafford, Orange County, Vermont, died on 13 Jan 1877 and was buried in Old City Cemetery in Strafford, VT.)
