Logansport-Pharos tribune - Indiana- Wed 30 Sept 1998 WINAMAC - Services for Dale E. Combs, 81, of 702 S. Franklin St., will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Frain Mortuary. Mr. Combs died at 2-2& p.m. Monday, Sept., 28,1998, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Fulton County Road 50N and U.S. 31 South, Rochester. Born April 3,1917, in Auburn, he was the son of Truman N. and Ida Bookwalter Combs. On Aug. 12,1949, in Winamac, he was married to Mary Straw Baker, who died Sept. 28, 1998. Mr. Combs was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. He lived in Winamac since 1949, moving there from Macy. Mr. Combs was a parts manager having worked at the Winamac Ford Garage, NAPA Auto Parts stores and Critten's Ford Tractor dealership. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He also was a member of the American Association of Retired People. Surviving are two sisters, Cherril Place, Cneboygan, Mich., and Lauretta Lee, Rochester. Two brothers, Byron Combs and Vie Combs, and one sister, Margaret Mead, preceded in death. William Mathys will officiate at the services. Burial, with military graveside services by Ihe American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, will be in McKinley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. until the time of services Friday in the mortuary.
