Eldorado Daily Republican [El Dorado, Kansas] 26 June 1906 Tuesday
Mrs Dolly Pierce-Straw, wife of John Straw of Towanda and a daughter of Mrs Lydia Pierce, recently deceased, was fatally burned Monday evening, June 25th at 5:40 in an explosion of gasoline in her Towanda home, dying of her injuries four hours later ...these immediate realatives survive...her husband John Straw, a neice, Miss Tessie Pierce who made her home with her, sisters: Mrs J. F. Brady of Chicago and Mrs M. J. Beach of Oklahoma; and brothers George and Charles Pierce of Redrock, OK and William Pierce of Fairview....remains interred in Towanda Cemetery beside those of her parents.
