Vivian S. Straw, 91, of Gatesville died Jan 6 at Hillside Manor Nursing
Home.
Services were held Jan. 10 at Scott's Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Curtis Beaird officiating. Burial was in City Cemetery.
Born July 16, 1895, in Harris County, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sutton. Following the death of her parents, she came to Gatesville where she was raised and attended school. She married Fenno W. Straw June 16, 1914. Mr. Straw preceded her in death Feb. 1, 1936.
Mrs. Straw was an active member of the Eastern Star and the Morris Federation through the years. She served on the Board of Directors of the National Bank of Gatesville and she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gatesville. Her son, Dr. Harry G. Straw, died in 1984.
Survivors include: two sons, F.W. (Jack) Straw of Gatesville and Henry F. Straw of Littleton, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers at the funeral were Erle Powell, Byron L. McClellan, Billy
Clay McClellan, W.D.Cooper, Don Flentge and Sam Edd Franks.
