MANCHESTER -- Joan Straw Kidd, 80, died March 17, 2007, at home after a brief illness.She was born Dec. 3, 1926, in Manchester to Ezekiel A. Straw and Virginia Slayton Straw.She attended local grammar schools and graduated from Garland School in Boston.After graduation, she married R. Richard Kidd, and they moved to Springfield, Ill., for five years before moving to Manchester.In 1963 they moved to New Canaan, Conn., where she worked as a manager at Real Tech real estate office.In 1976 they moved to Bedford, where she owned Heritage Properties and retired in 1986.In 1996 she moved to Hobe Sound, Fla., and returned to Manchester in 2006.She was a former member of Brookside Congregational Church, the Junior League, Colonial Dames of Portsmouth and Manchester Country Club.She was an excellent golfer and past state amateur women's golf champion.She also enjoyed playing bridge..IN HER LIFE: She was predeceased by her husband, R. Richard Kidd, in 2001, her brother Ezekiel A. Straw, her sister Nancy Straw Keiler and her parents.Her family includes three children; Martha Kidd Cyr of Gray, Maine, Peter Straw Kidd of Bedford and James Richard Kidd of Joplin, Mo.; two sisters, Sally Straw Bogart of Toledo, Ohio, and Pollie Straw Thayer of Medfield, Mass.; a sister-in-law, Margaret M. Straw of Reno, Nev.; and four grandchildren, Sophia, Alexander, Matthew and Ella Kidd..SERVICES: A memorial service is April 13 at 1 p.m. in the Brookside Congregational Church Chapel with the Rev.
