My greatgrandmothers name was Amanda Ellen Elliott Straw. Her father was Thomas Albert Elliott whose father and two brothers had come from England. This information came from my grandmother befor her death in 1973. She has written that Adam Alkire, Emma Alkire and Amanda Phillips died in Minatar Nebraska, and Rose Kleggel in Nebraska City. Research of R. Kimball on www.rrotsweb.com - states that Thomas married before 1840 in Indiana to unknown female and they had two children: Martha c1839 and Jacob c 1842. Thomas then married Amanda Smith (after the 1850 census and before the 1860 census.)

Also found a Jacob Elliott born c1808 in Tennessee and living in Warren, Indiana who could be another of the Elliot Brothers.
