Harry B. Straw III, 58, of Nebraska City, died on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009 at his home. He was born on Jan. 5, 1951 in Nebraska City, the son of Harry B. and Mary (Williamson) Straw, Jr.
After graduating from high school, he attented trucking school.
He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, entering service on Oct. 6, 1972.
He was honorably discharged on Feb. 27, 1976.
He married Wanda Jean Wichman on Jan. 12, 1982 in Council Bluffs. He was a truck driver with various companies including Viking Ship Trucking Co., Mares Trucking, Nationwide Trucking, F.C.C., N & W Trucking and D&D Trucking.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Straw, of Nebraska City; four children, Randy Bolton and wife Laura of Nebraska City, Michael Straw of Beaumont, Texas, Greg Bolton and wife Shannon of Nebraska City, and Tanya Bolton of Nebraska City; seven grandchildren; his mother, Mary Hutt, of Green Bay, Wisc.; siblings Michael Straw of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Henry Straw of West Plains, Mo., April Sterling of Sioux Falls, S.D., Debbie Brown of Bellevue, Tony Hutt of Omaha, Ron Hutt of Ohiowa, Neb., Mildred Hutt of Green Bay, Wisc., and Fred Straw of Sioux Falls, S.D.; other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Straw, Jr., and brothers Bryce Hutt and Stephen Straw.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15, at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City with Pastor Rob Connor of Cornerstone Church in Nebraska City officiating.
Graveside inurnment services will be held on Monday, Aug. 17, at 2 p.m. at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City with complete military services conducted by the Nebraska Army National Guard Funeral Honors Detail.
