Jacob, Cont. Line (NH) soldier applied 1818 in Hillsborough, NH. [Isaac Dimond testified in Sep of 1818 that on 1st of Jan 1776 Jacob Straw of Hopkintonn enlisted in the "Continental setablishment" under Capt John Hale of Hopkinton whose company was attached to Col John Stark's Regt and (Jacob) continued in service until the following Nov or December] Soldier married Betty or Besty Burbank 13 May 1779, both were of Hopkinton, NH. Soldier died 2 March 1839 at Newbury, NH and his widow died leaving children; Betsey Straw, Mercy or Marey Harvey, John, Richard, and Isiah Straw, Lucinda Farmer, Samuel B., and Jacob Straw, Jacob made application in 1844 in Merrimack, NH., aged 50. James and Robert Carr made application in 1819.

Private Jacob STRAW enlisted 11 Sept 1814 for 90 days under Capt Johnathan Bean's Company and served out of Hopkinton, NH. Discharged 9 November 1814.
