Irwin married Floris Maxine Aldrich, daughter of Delmore C. Aldrich and Emma Marion Carr. (Floris Maxine Aldrich was born on 15 May 1918, died on 29 Apr 1979 and was buried in Post Mills Cemetery in Orange County, Vermont.). The cause of her death was cancer.
