www.genealogybank.com FARMERS CABINET 30 Mar 1871 Dea Jonathan J. Straw, a well known citizen, died at the residence of his daughter at Quincy, MA on the 23 inst at the age of 71. Mr S. was a native of Hopkinton and came to this city when the manufacturing interest was first inaugerated. His house was the cheerful home of many of the young people who came to our city to engage in labor, in study or in business, who will read with sadness the record of his death. He was for a long time Superintendent of Burials in our city and twice represented his ward in the legislature. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist church and always exemplified his religion in his daily life.
