Neoma "Kitty" Buck, age 75, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2003 at the Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Neoma Lavada "Kitty" Buck was born March 4, 1927 in Red Oak, Iowa the daughter of Hugh and Mary (Straw) Polson. She grew up in Council Bluffs, Iowa graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1945. Kitty was united in marriage to Carl Buck on March 19, 1949 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Kitty was an executive secretary for the Council Bluffs Savings Bank for several years as well as Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons in Council Bluffs. Kitty and Carl also operated the Dixie Cream Donut Shop in Council Bluffs for many years. They moved to Blair, Nebraska in 1980 and operated the Blair Bakery until 1990 when they retired to Omaha, Nebraska. Kitty and Carl moved to Shenandoah, Iowa in 1999 and Red Oak, Iowa in 2001. Mrs. Buck attended church at the Grace Baptist Church in Red Oak.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years: Carl Buck of Red Oak, Iowa; 3 children: Roberta Moser and her husband David of Denver, Colorado; Rev. Dr. Rodger (Rod) Buck and his wife Jolene of Omaha, Nebraska; and Curtiss Buck and his wife Lisa of Vista, California; 3 grandchildren: Betsy Myers and her husband Bill of Omaha, Nebraska; Andrew Moser of Denver, Colorado; and Evan Buck of Vista, California; great grandson: Jesse Ramirez of Omaha, Nebraska; brother: Hugh Polson and his wife Doris of Council Bluffs, Iowa; sister: Luta Roberta Murphy of Council Bluffs, Iowa; 8 nieces and nephews; 20 great nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, February 1, 2003 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Pastor Gary Walters officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Friday, January 31, 2003 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Gideons or the Grace Baptist Church.
