21 Mar 1916 - "Mrs Julia A. Straw of 429 North Main St. is critically ill at the home of her stepson Kyle Straw in Cleveland Township. She is suffering from dropsy which has developed gangrene in one limb."

Mtrs Julia A. Straw of 429 North Main St. widow of Samuel D. Straw died at the home of her stepson Kyle Straw in Cleveland township at 3:10 o'clock this morning. Her death which was caused by senile gangrene was expected. She had been unconscious for several days. Mrs Straw was born on February 17, 1848.
Kyle Straw who is unmarried inherited a portion of his father's farm in Cleveland township and built a home there a few years ago. Mrs Straw left her own home in this city, going to her stepson's home to keep house for him. It was there that she was prostrated.
Mr Straw is the only near relative. Mrs Harley W. Ecker whose body was buried here Saturday [April 14] was a stepdaughter. Mrs. May A Baker of Columbus, Ohio is a neice."

WILL OF MRS STRAW
"Mrs Julia A. Straw, whose Will was filed in the superior court today, gives her jewelry, shawls and silver forks to her "esteemed friend Julia A. Taylor of Michigan City and all of the residue of her estate to her stepson, Kyle D. Straw to be his absolutely. Mr. Straw is named executor. The Will was drawn on June 16, 1909 and witnessed by Sarah Pfeiffer and Marie L. G. Becket."
