She was employed by Ohio Bell as a telephone operator, retiring in 1977 after 22 years.
She was a member of Pioneers of Ohio Bell, Honorary member of the Perseverance Lodge and Zenobia Shrine of Toledo, a volunteer for Monroe School in Sandusky, Philco Ten Plus Club, and she loved spending time with her family, baking and walking.
She is survived by her daughters, Joyce (Roy) Patterson and Judy Thompson, both of Sandusky, son, Harry (Arlene) Thompson, Sandusky, grandchildren, Roy (Joey) Patterson, Steven (Kelly) Patterson, Matthew (Kendra) Thompson, Harry "Butch" (Kristen Cameron) Thompson Jr., Beth Ann (Kevin) Wagner, Jennifer (Gregg) Eschedor, sixteen great grandchildren, a great-great grandson, sisters, Esther Keating and Audrey Shafer, both of Sandusky, sister-in-law, Marie Babcock, Sandusky, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry F. Thompson in 1986, parents, Joseph Babcock and Alta (Sharp) Babcock Peach, and brothers Joseph "Dutch" Babcock and David D. Babcock, brothers-in-law, Wilfred Keating and William Shafer.
Friends may call on Monday from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Avenue, Sandusky. Friends may also call on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11:00 A.M. in Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Bardshar Rd., Sandusky. Reverend Philip Gardner will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.

She was born on June 13, 1921 in Sandusky, Ohio. She worked for Philco Corporation, Sandusky, until the time of its closing and was a member of the Philco 10 Plus Club. She was employed as a Supervisor in the main cafeteria at the Ohio Veterans Home, retiring in 1986 after twenty years of service. She held memberships in the ladies auxiliaries of the Amvets Post 17, VFW Post 2529 and the American Legion Post 83. She was a lifelong member of St. Stephen United Church of Christ in Sandusky, Ohio.
Mrs. Neill's real life's work was unselfishly concentrating on the loving, happiness, and nurturing of her entire family's physical and spiritual needs. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will fondly remember the holidays and other occasions made special by her mere presence. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her entire family as often as possible.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Corky Neill of Castalia, Ohio; one daughter and son-in-law, Arlene and Harry Thompson, Sr., of Sandusky, Ohio; three grandchildren, Beth Ann (Kevin) Wagner of Bellevue, Ohio, Jennifer Lynn (Gregg) Eschedor of Wellington, Ohio, and Harry "Butch" Thompson, Jr. of Sandusky, Ohio. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren, Brandon M. Thompson, Jennifer M. Thompson, Samuel and Nathaniel Wagner, and Danielle M. and Jonathan E. Eschedor, Richard Neill, and Kimberly Hobs; one great great grandchild, Jackson M. Brown; several sister-in-laws; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all she loved and the many who loved her in return.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Thomas G. Neill, Sr. in May 1988; one son, William "Billy" at age 5 in October 1949; her parents, Adam and Muriel (Ommert) Burre; and one brother, Robert Burre.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Avenue, Sandusky, Ohio. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. in St. Stephen United Church of Christ, 905 E. Perkins Avenue, Sandusky, Ohio with Pastor Liz Proudfoot officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky, Ohio
