Sandra E. Straw, 68, died Nov. 24, 2013 at her home in Nebraska City.
She was born on Aug. 24, 1945 in Nebraska City to Arnold and Gertrude L.
(James) Christiansen.
She married Richard L. Straw on May 17, 1964 in Rock Port, Mo.
Sandra worked at various jobs over the years including being a waitress, a bartender and a nurses aide at the Nebraska City Manor and the Ambassador.
She is survived by husband Richard L. Straw of Nebraska City; children Richard D. Straw of Irwin, Iowa, Teddy A. Christiansen and wife Sharon of Syracuse, Susan M. Holm and husband Marc of Defiance, Iowa, Karie R. Warland and husband Russell of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Patricia C.
Straw of Shenandoah, Iowa, Bryant L. Straw of Nebraska City, and Bryanna Prudhome and husband James of Nebraska City; siblings Paul Christiansen and wife Vicki of Wichita, Kan., Arnold Christiansen and wife Jill of Nebraska City, Patricia Moser of Boise, Idaho, Janice Crowley and husband Lonnie of Twin Falls, Idaho, Jackie Mertz of Florida and Edward "Bunky" Christiansen of Arizona; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; other family and friends.
She was preceded by her parents; two grandchildren: Brittany Powell (her very special granddaughter) and Elizabeth Warland and one great-grandchild: Zachery Campbell.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 2, at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City with Pastor Norm Anderson officiating. Burial will follow the services at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City.
The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 1, evening at the mortuary.
Memorials may be given to the family.
