Jerry Wilson, age 72, of Carter Lake, Iowa, formerly of Clarinda, Iowa, died Saturday, June 3, 2006, at Immanuel Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 6, 2006, at Walker-Merrick Funeral Home, Clarinda, Iowa with Rev. John Clark officiating. Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. with the family present 5-6, Monday, June 6, 2006.. Burial will be in Memory Cemetery, New Market, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Omaha. Walker-Merrick Funeral Home, Clarinda, Iowa is in charge of arrangements. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.walker-merrick-wolfe-barr.com.
Jerry Lee Wilson was born April 19, 1934, at Villisca, Iowa to Paul Wilson and Lara Jean (Carver) Wilson. Jerry was a graduate of Clarinda High School. He was united in marriage January 8, 1954, to Ruby R. Larson who preceded him in death January 6, 1999. Jerry was a Gold Card Cement Mason. He retired in 1997. Jerry was an avid fisherman.
Preceding Jerry in death were his parents; wife, Ruby; brother, Robert Wilson; sister, Marla Sims. Survivors include his daughters, Cathy Engle and husband Todd of Omaha, Nebraska and Kimberly Straw of Spencer, Iowa; grandchildren, Michaela Straw, Miranda Straw, Lauren Engle and Katherine Engle; brother, Ronald Wilson of Omaha, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Janette Wilson of Clarinda, Iowa.
