Parnick George was born and raised in Boone County, MO where he married
Susan Rice in 1867. Their first three children, including Richard, were
born in Boone County. In 1872 the family moved to Bigfoot, Frio County,
Texas and by 1880 they resided in Medina County, Texas where they
farmed. The family left Texas, possibly due to the 1886 drought, and was
listed in the 1900 census of Lincoln County, Oklahoma Indian Territory.
Parnick acquired a ¼ section of land (Township 12 North, Range 2 East) in
Kickapoo Township during the Lincoln County Land Rush (Appendix D).
Augustus George, older brother of Parnick, took the Oregon Trail west and
settled in the area around Baker City and Haines, Oregon.
